Four bespoke luxury eco-treehouses.

We work best when collaborating with a visionary client, and master craftsmen Will Hardy of Wild Escapes was the ideal client to develop this project with. We provided a range of concepts which were whittled down and developed into these incredible eco-friendly retreats built overlooking a vineyard in Hampshire.

Client Brief.

The idea was simple. Four treehouses spread out within an untouched forest, making the most of the staggering vineyard views to the South. The structures were to reflect this simplicity, with clean, familiar angles and carefully considered glazing framing the views without overlooking the private outdoor bathing spaces of the other treehouses.

Main Challenges.

We wanted to stay true to the vision of minimal environmental impact, so no concrete was used and the weight of the structures cleverly spreads itself via locally sourced timber beams and columns and down to screw piles which can be removed and reused at the end of the buildings lifespan.

Outcome.

Each of the four treehouses has been given its own theme and identity, from a scandinavian style timber haven, to a rusticated shack. Each treehouse is special and stirs different emotions, making each stay truly spectacular.

“By working with the site and it’s existing features we were able to carefully position each of the tree houses into spaces where they would not harm the trees, badger setts or the tree root systems, but instead connect the guests to the land and create an experience unlike anything else.”
