As well as apartments, a boutique office and workshop allow a live / work / make lifestyle.

 

A new chapter for a very special building.

We were delighted to be commissioned with reimagining this Grade II listed property which sits within a beautiful curving Georgian street. Unlike the adjacent properties which feature identical layouts, this property was extended and modified at various points in history, to become a guest house, a liquor store, a club and then returned to a private dwelling. Our goal was to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience it, by creating three apartments, as well as a small office & workshop for city centre creatives.

 

Client Brief.

In a careful balance of achieving commercial viability whilst respecting the listed building, it’s features and the wider streetscene we took a minimally evasive approach that divided the building with the least structural changes. The council fully supported the plans, and have been delighted to see new life breathed into the area.


Main Challenges.

Working within an old building is difficult, especially when adding new services in such as the additional kitchens and bathrooms that have been required. Working within a listed building however, requires a whole new level of sensitivity - which thankfully our client and developer were accustomed to doing.


Outcome.

The result of this hard work is three stunning and refreshing city centre apartments that each tell their own story through their historic features. The new office and workshop space has become a hub drawing in professionals and creatives seeking an inspiring place to work together.
